Superresolution Confocal Microscopy

The RCM rescan super-resolution confocal microscope can be used to achieve image resolution higher than that imposed by the diffraction limit. It is available for both visible wavelengths and NIR wavelengths and offers scanning speeds of up to 4 frames per second. Lateral resolution for the visible is 170 nm and 240 nm for the NIR.

With 25 fps scan speed, the NL5 system allows you to study fast cell dynamics and perform 4D imaging in optimised conditions. The use of low laser powers facilitates long term live-cell imaging such as mouse embryos, zebrafish, and organoids.

Both the RCM and NL5 are available as a compete system or as an upgrade that can added to an existing widefield fluorescence system, which makes it an ideal solution for small labs with limited budget, but demanding tasks. Affordable and excellent add-on for imaging facilities to increase imaging capacity.

The RCM Rescan Confocal Microscope and the NL5 system were both created by Confocal.nl

Confocal.nl was founded in 2016 by Dr Erik Manders and Peter Drent. Erik is the head of the research group that developed the RCM technology and continues to work on the future models. He is well known in the microscopy world by the Manders’ coefficient and the Controlled Light Exposure Microscopy (CLEM, together with Ron Hoebe). Peter has played a key role in the development of Confocal.nl and has more than 25 years of experience in the microscopy business.

The company currently focusses on combining super-resolution capability with higher sensitivity than most confocal microscopes.

 


 

Laser 2000 has partnered with PicoQuant to offer state-of-the-art technology, co-developed and tested by renowned researchers, at a price affordable to scientific groups and cost sensitive industry.

The PicoQuant group was founded in 1996 to develop robust, compact, and easy to use time-resolved instrumentation and systems.

Today, PicoQuant is known as a company leading in the field of pulsed diode lasers, time-resolved data acquisition, single photon counting, and fluorescence instrumentation. With PicoQuant’s easy to use products, researchers can focus on their problems in biology, medicine, environmental science, or chemistry without needing a large background in physics, electronics, or optics.
