If you are unsure of the level of protection required for your laser, please complete our laser safety calculation form. Laser 2000 will calculate the required EN207 rating, free of charge.

Laser Safety Eyewear

The filter material type and frame style is dependent on the protection level needed for the various classes of lasers (link to article).

All Laser safety spectacles and goggles are CE certified and conform to EN207 safety ratings. The EU standards consider the frame when determining eyewear safety rating, you can find our overview of the different available frame styles in our Frame Styles Guide

If you do not know the EN207 safety rating needed please see our Laser Safety Calculator

Plastic Absorption Filters

For cost effective eyewear when using small to medium power levels special plastics with absorbing dyes are used as the filter material. In the case of a laser hit, most of the laser energy is converted into heat and for this reason thermal stability is important. As standard a scratch-proof coating is applied and for certain materials anti-fog, though small scratches do not effect safety.

Glass Absorption Filters

Glass filters are clearly superior to plastics, making them particularly suitable for use with continuous (cw) lasers of medium to high performance. Especially in the IR area, there are a number of powerful filters with very good color vision. IN the case of a direct hit by high energy laser, the glass may break very quickly, therefore most filters have enhanced splitner protection as standard.

Reflective Coatings

For the highest level of protection, interference filters can be combined with absorbing filters for an almost unlimited number of blocking combinations. Incident light at angles different from 90 deg will be completely reflected according to the required angular range of +/- 30° (according to norms EN207/208). As a large part of the protection effect is based on reflection every scratch on the coated surface must be avoided

Guide to Frame Styles

A guide to frame styles available for our laser safety eyewear.

As the EU standards EN207 and 208 consider the frame when determining the eyewear safety rating, not all Laservision frames are available with all filters. Ask for a quotation or use our laser safety calculation form to let us know the ratings you need to find out which frames are suitable for your laser.

Large Area Laser Protection

Shield laser working spaces or public areas with a compete line of large area laser protection systems. Some of these systems can be combined with glass or acrylic laser safety windows

Laser safety curtains are the most flexible solution to cover windows or larger areas. With clean room or laboratory specific requirements such as ESD. Other customised laser safety solutions are our laser safety films, laser protection roller blinds, slats and laser safety boxes

To meet the need for complete but flexible solutions laservision have developed the modular barrier system. An extensive portfolio of barrier modules with different protection levels or window segments.

When a quick and portable laser safety solution is required then please see our  mobile laser safety barrier system

Laser Safety Windows

The basic standard for laser protection (DIN EN 60825-1:2008) demands that lasers need to be safely operated under all predictable conditions.

According to the machine building regulation 2006/42/EG laser protection windows and enclosures are considered as safety components. That means, that the accessible laser radiation must be below the maximum permissible exposure for eye and skin.

laser safety windows are the integration within machine housings or within large area laser protection, such as cabins or panel barriers.

Medical Laser Protection

This includes laser safety eyewear for doctors and assistants as well as for patients, and the application in veterinarian practices.

Additional innovative products like sterilisable splash protection eyewear and clean-room fit laser safety curtains and a well balanced range of accessories.

Laser Safety Accessories

Laser alignment can be tricky if the beam is in the infrared or is completely attenuated by laser safety eyewear. Beam-viewing tools shift the wavelength of the beam and make it easier to see.

Laser safety shutters are electromagnetic shutters intended for application including remote on/off of laser light and for timed exposures.

What's New?

We’ve recently refreshed our website, and we hope that you will find the changes to be a big improvement. We’ve worked hard to make it easier to navigate the site, and to find exactly what you need from among our vast and diverse range of products.

Missing e-commerce?

One thing that we’ve not carried over from the previous site at this time is the facility to order online for a select range of our products, which you may have been used to in the past. “Off-the-shelf” items represent a small part of our product range; most often a purchase requires a more in-depth discussion between our sales team and the customer to match the right product to the user’s application. For this reason we have focussed on making it as easy as possible to request a quotation from our sales team.

Please rest assured that we will get back to you with pricing promptly, and will work with you to make sure the products you buy are exactly what you need. Once you’re ready to order, our sales team will work through the process with you, to make it as seamless as possible.

Once you’ve selected all the items you’re interested in, by clicking “Add to Quote” on the product page, just click “View Quote Request List” or the icon in the top navigation bar, check your list, set quantities, complete your details and submit the form. Our sales team will respond by email, in a timely manner.

If you have any other questions in the meantime, please get in touch directly.
