Laser 2000

Line Laser Profiling System

Line laser profiling system allowing for direct measurement of line lasers.
Up to 200 mm in length and down to 55 μm in width.

We offer a solution for direct measurements and analysis of line lasers up to 200 mm in length and down to 55 microns in thickness. Our line laser profiling functionality is included in our full-featured, user-centric software. The software automatically moves our flagship WinCamD-LCM beam profiling camera across the length of the line laser output using a 50 or 200 mm linear stage to capture and analyze the entire beam. The DataRay software compensates for any residual sensor tilt to ensure the most accurate measurement.

A full image of the line laser intensity distribution is provided along with a vertical centroid plot, line width plot, intensity plots, and several other useful metrics. The software enables the user to generate annotated PDF reports as well as to export the raw data.

Figure 1: Line laser with edges physically blocked to reduce it to 28 mm in length. The diffraction seen near the edges is due to the physical blocking of the line laser; this can be observed with the DataRay software (Figure 3).

Figure 2: Line Laser Profiling System Dialog measuring 200 mm of a line laser

Figure 3: The characteristic pattern of edge diffraction from our physically truncated line laser in Figure 1 can be viewed in the Normalized Summed Intensity plot in red (second plot is zoomed). The red line is the summed intensity of each column and the green line is the peak intensity of each column.

Laser 2000 works in partnership with DataRay Inc. to offer a wide range of products and services designed to deliver high-quality, affordable, and reliable instrumentation to the photonics industry. Product lines include CMOS and VOx microbolometer based beam profiling cameras (covering wavelength range 190 nm to 16 μm, model-dependent), and scanning slit beam profilers (covering wavelength range 190 nm to 2.5 μm, model-dependent).

The DataRay advantage:

  • Broad applications – Products featuring: 0.1 µm best resolution; 2 µm minimum diameter; beam dimensions to 25 mm; SuperSpeed USB 3.0
  • Wide bandwidth – DataRay’s product portfolio covers wavelengths from deep UV to FIR
  • No hidden costs of ownership – All DataRay beam profiling systems include a 3-year warranty (unless otherwise stated); any necessary servicing within this period is at no charge, including parts and labour (excluding damage by customer)
  • ISO 11146 compliant beam profiling – DataRay uses XY plane scanning slit motions which strictly comply with the standard’s requirement for a slit or knife-edge scan to be made in a plane perpendicular to the propagation axis
  • Free, user-friendly software – Fully functional and versatile software with unlimited installs and free downloadable updates for the life of your product
