Laser 2000

Laser Diodes

Laser 2000 offers the nanoplus range of visible and IR laser diodes.
Available in both freespace and pigtailed formats.

Laser diodes are component level devices that are ubiquitous in modern life, due to their small size and ruggedness. Laser 2000 (UK) supply a large matrix of products based on package type and optical properties such as power and wavelength. Please call us and we can find the right one for your application.

The lasers in this section utilise a patented process based on lateral metal Bragg gratings incorporated in the laser structure. This makes it possible to deliver single mode emission with well defined optical properties.

Though laser diodes are the most common form of semiconductor laser, a subset of device is based on the novel structuring of the semiconductor material, allowing the design of unique optical properties. Some of these devices do not require a ‘diode structure’ at all, such as Inter-band Cascade Lasers (ICLs) and Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs), though they are still commonly coined ‘Laser Diode’.

The most common application is gas spectroscopy, specifically Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS).

Ultra-narrow Linewidth Lasers Chilas design and fabricate external cavity semiconductor lasers using its leading hybrid integration technology. They make ultra-narrow linewidth lasers which offer a very competitive price compared to lasers with similar specifications. The CT3 and CT3+ lasers have a wide tuning range without jumps and have an ultra-narrow linewidth, a unique combination. This […]

Wherever rapid measurement, cost effective monitoring or miniaturisation of devices is crucial, the outstanding characteristics of tunable semiconductor lasers show their advantages.

Partnering with nanoplus GmbH, a vertically integrated supplier of semiconductor lasers, which is the only manufacturer worldwide routinely providing single and multi-mode lasers at any wavelength from 760 to 6000 nm.

The key element for single-mode emission and tuning characteristics is the DFB-grating.  This complex coupled grating shows many advantages over index coupled gratings such as low threshold currents, high output efficiency and excellent side mode suppression ratios (SMSR).

nanoplus lasers operate reliably in tens of thousands of installations worldwide, including chemical and metallurgical industries, gas pipelines, power plants, medical systems, airborne and satellite applications.
