Laser 2000

Isolators & Faraday Rotators

ISOWAVE’s line of isolators feature high performance and small form factor at a low cost.

Optical isolators are passive, non-reciprocal devices that utilise the phenomenon of Magneto-Optic Rotation to isolate the source from reflections in an optical system. The heart of the optical isolator is based on a Faraday Rotator using, for example, Yttrium Iron Garnet-YIG (LPE and bulk) or Terbium Gallium Garnet-TGG single crystals.

These among other Faraday media have the ability, when in an appropriate magnetic field, to rotate the plane of linearly polarised light by an amount proportional to its length. YIG crystal is used for wavelengths from 1100 to 2100nm. TGG is utilised in several free space optical isolators for wavelengths between 500 and 1100nm.

All isolator units and Faraday rotators are supplied with a mounting collar for easy mounting and accurate alignment to the polarisation plane of a laser.

Description
Isowave’s Flatpak series of Optical Isolators offers outstanding performance in an extremely compact design. The new Flatpak packaging provides the same features and performance as our standard round Miniature Optical Isolators. The Flatpak design also allows for surface mounting and use with automated material handling and processing methods. These robust Optical Isolators are available in […]
Our free-space optical isolator (Faraday isolator) and Faraday rotator selection includes a wide range of wavelengths, with typical isolation as high as 40 dB for single stage, and 75 dB for dual stage units. Various models can be purchased with fixed-wavelength, or with user-friendly tunability. We also offer a broadband optical isolator selection for applications […]
Miniature Optical Isolators offer opportunities for laser diode manufacturers requiring an in-package ultra-high performance isolator. These very small optical isolators which incorporatea highly efficient optical components into an extremely small and durable package. Our miniature Faraday Optical Isolators are available in single stage, semi-double and true-double stage configurations with isolation up to 63 dB and […]

ISOWAVE’s line of isolators feature high performance and small form factor at a low cost.
