PICAS

The Coil PICAS is a compact, alignment-free beam delivery package. It produces a 2D+ MOT beam configuration with three user-supplied fibre-coupled light inputs. The Fixed PICAS is a compact, alignment-free beam delivery package. It produces a 2D+ MOT beam configuration with three user-supplied fibre-coupled light inputs, capable of producing a cold atom flux of >10⁹ atoms per second when used with Infleqtion’s CASC, Cold Atom Source Cell.

Coil PICAS: Advanced Solution for 2D+ MOT and BEC Experiments

Coil Picas_cold atom

Features

  • Coils for Fast, Tunable Magnetic Field Generation
  • Turn Coils off when not in use to avoid stray magnetic fields
  • Compact Opto-Mechanics
  • Alignment-Free 2D+ MOT
  • Integrated Heat Sink
  • Available with Power Monitoring Photodiodes

Design Wavelengths and Elements

  • 780 nm (Rubidium)
  • 852 nm (Cesium)

By using the Coil PICAS, you can easily couple your lasers through
standard singlemode fibre to achieve a robust 2D+ Magneto-Optical Trap (MOT).
The 2D collection of atoms can then be precisely pushed through the pinhole into a glass cell,
enabling seamless cold atom and Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) experiments.

This system is ideal for laboratories seeking a complete MOT and BEC solution.
Additionally, the optional photodiode configuration enhances functionality by offering
polarisation cleaning and power monitoring capabilities for all three beams.

Fixed PICAS: Compact, Alignment-Free Beam Delivery Package

The Fixed Photonically Integrated Cold Atom Source (PICAS) is a compact,
alignment-free system designed to produce a robust 2D+ MOT beam configuration.
With three user-supplied fibre-coupled light inputs, the Fixed PICAS can deliver a
cold atom flux exceeding 10⁹ atoms per second when paired with a
Cold Atom Source Cell (CASC). Its plug-and-play design allows for seamless
integration into experimental setups.

An optional photodiode configuration enhances functionality by offering
polarisation cleaning and power monitoring capabilities
for all three beams.
