Various accessories for photon counting setups
- Signal attenuators (20dB, 10dB, 5dB, 3dB)
- TTL to NIM converter (e.g. for TT output of SPADs)
- Signal inverter
- Power splitter
- Signal cables
ATM Series SMA Inline Attenuators
The ATM series attenuators are used to attenuate signals from e.g. Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) modules. The higher signal amplitude of the TTL pulses from these detectors exceeds the input voltage range for e.g. the PicoQuant TCSPC units. Available from PicoQuant are attenuators with 3 dB, 5 dB, 10 dB and 20 dB.
SIA 400 – Inverter and Attenuator Module
The SIA 400 module is a passive module designed to invert and attenuate (20 dB) TTL pulses produced e.g. by Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) modules to negative pulses compatible with PicoQuant TCSPC units. The SIA 400 has BNC connectors at both ends.
SI100 – Inverter Module
The SI 100 module is a passive module designed to invert signals from e.g. a detector or a synchronisation signal from a laser source in order to make them compatible with PicoQuant TCSPC units.
PSM 50/51 – Power Splitter Module
The PSM 50/51 power splitter (reflection free T-pad) allows a 50 Ohms RF source to feed two 50 Ohms loads simultaneously. This task cannot be performed by an ordinary T-pad without severe reflections and consequent signal distortion. This is particularly important in timing sensitive applications such as Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC). Max. power dissipation 0.2 W. The power splitter are available with either BNC (PSM 50) or SMA (PSM 51) connectors.
Cables
PicoQuant can offer a range of special made signal cables with SMA or BNC connectors as well as specialised cables with Lemo connectors. For signal connections we recommend RG 223 cable. This cable type has a double braided silver plated screen which provides optimum shielding in timing sensitive applications such as Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC)
